I give the opening keynote of HealthTech Europe HXPO 2026 on Thursday, 10 December 2026 at SDA Bocconi, Milan — taking the main stage to open the day on the future of health AI, in front of hospital leaders, healthcare executives, pharma decision-makers and investors.
HXPO connects the broader European healthtech ecosystem, and the 2026 edition expands the format with dedicated vertical forums for specific healthcare communities — hospitals and health systems, care providers, radiology and imaging, oncology, and insurance — alongside the flagship conference.
An opening keynote sets the frame rather than surveying the field, so this one takes a position: the interesting question is no longer what AI can do in healthcare, but what has to be true for it to be relied on. The capability argument is largely settled; the unsettled part is verification, governance, and who owns the decision when an agent acts.
